GO BEYOND! BE A VOLUNTEER!

English:
Well... first of all, I would like to thank the comments I have received on my blog about my latest posts. THANK YOU!

It may not seem, but I’m an optimist!
It’s true! It’s hard stay here in Dublin, but (and always will be a “but”) there are a lot of very good things!
Today, I’d like to tell you about my volunteer job!
One of my goals here, as I said in previous posts, is to speak in English as much as I can, and to make that dream come true, I thought of working with volunteers.
There are a several kinds of volunteer jobs here in Dublin, and you can read more about this in website www.volunteer.ie
With this kind of job you can “kill two (or three, or four…) birds with one shot”:
You will help people…
You will live with Irish people…
You will develop your English…
You will gain experience and references… etc.
And a lot of other things!!!
Well… I’m working in a program called “FIGHTING WORDS”.

This program aims to encourage students of all ages to develop their writing skills and to explore their love of writing.
It’s extremely gratifying to work with children and can help them.
If you like to know more about “Fighting Words” you can access the website: www.fightingwords.ie
I can say to you… work there is my time to relax!! I can learn a lot!
The children help me a lot and every moment teach me new words!

Well... are you thinking of developing, have moments of personal growth, learn more English language and meet really nice people who will participate with you the activities, be a volunteer!

Thank you all!

Você irá ajudar as pessoas...
Você ira conviver com irlandeses...
Você irá incrementar o seu inglês...
Você ira ganhar experiência e referencias... etc.
E muitas outras coisas!!!
As crianças me ajudam muito e a todo o momento me ensinam palavras novas!

"DARK SIDE OF THE MOON!"

English:
Dear friends!
When we look the sky and see the moon up there, we see something beautiful! Brilliant! Romantic! But we never stop to think that we can see only one side. The same side. This phenomenon happens because the moon doesn’t turn around itself, called “rotation”.
We never see the other side: the dark side of the moon.
Unless we are astronauts, we never couldn’t see the other side!

The side of the moon that everyone sees.

With Orkut is the same thing!
When you look at photos of your friends who are traveling, you only see happiness, smiles, photos in beautiful and touristic places, bear in bars, many friends… and blá blá blá… blá blá blá…
Everything is party, beauty and fun!
Our family, parents, girlfriend and boyfriends, friends, think that living in Europe is only a dream. Is not.
Behind the photos there’s a real live that nobody shows, but I will show you.
“The dark side of Dublin!” Hahahahah!!

Cleaners, Kitchen Porters, House Keepers, Insurers advertising on streets, Waiters..., so, nobody wants to show!
Yes! There are exceptions! There are those who do not need to submit to this reality. I'm really happy for those who have that comfort! ;-)
To stay here in Dublin and able to study English for a year, I work like a cleaner in a Nursing Home. My best friend is a “Mop”, and every day I have to clean toilets and bedrooms. It is not easy!

Me and my friend "Mop" the background. (Photo taken on mobile phone)
I can not complain, because, as I wrote in previous post, find a job here is very easy.
Towards a better future… I do it!! :-)
And now… I will put this picture on Orkut too!
Hahahaha!!!

Thanks you all!

Português:
Queridos amigos!

Hahahaha!

Abraços a todos!

Europe in crises!

English:
Europe is in crisis. The crisis is not only in the newspaper or on TV.
Definitely, we can feel and see the European crisis here in Dublin.
Since I arrived, I have been heard a lot of histories about how was easy find a job in Dublin, including people without any knowledge in English. But now, the reality is completely different!
Unfortunately, a several Brazilians who arrived can not find a job, even though if they have English. We don’t know exactly the others factors (and there is a lot of others factors!) but we know that now is much more difficult than the past, about 2 years later.
I don’t want to scare you! But you need know the true!
Yes! It is possible find a job here!! The challenger is biggest than the past, but certainly possible! It depends on you!!

Dublin lives tourism!
Much of his economies come from European tourists.
The bars, which hired many people to work, lost many tourists and, now, they are firing and reducing work hours of his employees. Without this money the wheel of economy doesn’t turn. It’s easy understood!
Without tourist, the hotels and all this industries suffer the consequences.
Small stores dispense his employees hopping for better days.
Big companies, industries and factories are not hiring. In construction, for example, large buildings are completely stopped.
It is good remember that, Brazilians in general, works in job considered “underemployed”.
We can not deny. There are fewer jobs here in Dublin. There are more difficulties for those who arrive.
However, the spirit for those who wants to win here to remain the same: to grab power and dedication to win.
If you want do come, come on!
Yes! You can!
Will be the biggest experience of your life!

Thank you all!

Agora a realidade é completamente diferente!

Pequenas lojas dispensam funcionários esperando dias melhores.
Sim! Você pode!
Será a maior experiência de sua vida!

Abraços a todos!

The land of The Beatles: Liverpool!

English: (portuguese version below)
Today I would like to tell you about my trip to Liverpool. I went there with my flat mates Eduardo, Felipe and Diogo. It happened in 6th, may.
Every time, the airlines make deals of his tickets, and, this time, we got tickets for €6,00 return! It was very cheap! Extraordinary!
You can make a quick trip without any special reason, if you have time and lucky.
Our trip lasted only 24 hour. We arrived at Liverpool airport (called John Lennon) early morning, and during the day we visited some of the famous places in the city.
As in Dublin City, you can buy a bus ticket and ride all day for £4,20 and we did that!
Our first stop was the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King. Very beautiful church! Well worth a visit!

Thereafter, we took a bus and went near to city centre, more specifically in Albert Dock in the harbor area, where is the Beatle’s Store. We visited the museum and took a lot of photos! Cool!

It was still before 12am, when the visit finished and we walked to the city centre to see a 4D animation film about Beatles. “Amazing!”
Our list of places still had the Stadium of Liverpool Football Club, Museum of Science and Natural History (including planetary) and the legendary The Cavern Club, birthplace of The Beatles.

Personally, I think that only one day was not enough to know the entire city and enjoy what she could offer.
In my next trip, I will reserve a hostel to rest and have a better structure: shower, bed, etc.
At the end of the day I felt the weight of my 33 years when we visited pubs. Hahahaha!
After this great day, I thought only of returning home.

TOTAL COST OF THE TRIP: €50,00 (including food and airlines tickets.)

Thank you all!

Nossa viagem durou apenas 24 horas.
Linda igreja! Vale a pena a visita!
“Show de bola!”

CUSTO TOTAL DA VIAGEM: €50,00 (incluindo comida e passagens aéreas.)

Abraços a todos!
