THE FIRST TIME WE NEVER FORGET!!

Hello friends!
Well. I think that the time has arrived for me to write my first post in English here in my blog.

Everybody knows that I’m here in Dublin with a goal to study English and, every evening, I’m going to school to take classes. I don’t know if my English is good or bad, but let me try to write this text anyway.
My blog is not meant to say that I am as much... or anything like that. It was initially made for me to speak my thoughts, doubts, some opinions ... and now, moreover, it is providing a document about my time in Ireland (maybe Europe!).
So… I don’t want hide from you the truth. I will show the truth about my English.
First, I’d like explain how I can do this. I’ll show here three texts:
- The first is the corrected original text. I had Karol’s help *(my English teacher). The final version is without errors.
- The second text is the original without any corrections. I wrote trying to thinking in English. I tried to put words on paper (laptop) as it appeared in my mind.
- The third text is the same text, but in Portuguese. For those that can’t understand much English but who read my posts here.

The Final Version
Well, when I arrived here, my first shock was the language. Obviously, I was fascinated!! It is totally different from what I had heard in Brazil. I didn’t know very much about English although that I had studied before in Brazil for one year, in 2008.

The course in Brazil was very useful, because I could learn a lot of new words, but…. (and there always exists a “but”) they were only words. There were a lot of loose words, without any connection.
I didn’t know anything about grammar.
Particularly, I think that the English language is fundamental to live in the contemporary world. This is the reason why I am staying here.
I saw a lot of people not giving any importance to this… and here also. There are a lot of people (including Brazilians) who do not care about learning English. They are staying here only to make money. They are living with other countrymen and, over time, end up not needing English to live.
This will be an option for you if you come here to Dublin. The questions are:
What do you want here? Money or English? Ok… you can answer me: “Both!”
There is no problem and you really can do this!! Perfect!!
But most of the immigrants from Brazil, in fact, can’t do this. Obviously, when you start your job here, automatically you will train your English, and it’s very good, but, what kind of work will you be able to get here? Money is as important as talking in English, and speaking the language correctly, without any grammar errors.
For me, it has been a strong and difficult experience. Sometimes it’s very easy to speak and sometimes it can be very difficult. My option was to learn the language and, if possible, to travel in Europe. I want know everything that I saw in the books. Seeing concerts (U2 especially!) and taking pictures of famous places. I hope by the end of this year to be speaking English very well. I don’t have much money but I know that my experience will be priceless!!
The greatest value I want to take on my return to Brazil is the knowledge and my experience of living here.

Bem. Penso que chegou a hora de eu escrever minha primeira postagem em inglês aqui no meu blog. Todos sabem que e estou aqui em Dublin com o objetivo de estudar inglês e, toda a noite eu vou para o meu curso ter aulas. Eu não sei se meu inglês é bom ou ruim, mas deixe-me tentar escrever esse texto.Thank you Karol

Meu blog não foi feito para dizer que eu sou o maximo… ou algo parecido com isso. Ele foi feito inicialmente para falar meus pensamentos, duvidas, algumas sacadas... e agora, além disso, está servindo para documentar (de alguma forma) meu tempo aqui na Irlanda (e talvez Europa!).
Então... eu não quero te esconder a verdade. Eu vou te mostrar a verdade sobre o meu inglês.
Primeiramente, eu gostaria de explicar de que forma eu fiz isso. Eu vou te mostra aqui três textos:
O primeiro é o texto corrigido do original. Eu tive a ajuda do Google. A versão final. Sem erros.
O segundo texto é o original. Sem correções. Eu escrevi tentando pensar em ingles. Eu tentei colocar no papel (laptop) as palavras assim como apareciam na minha cabeça.
O terceiro texto é o mesmo, mas em português. Para aqueles que não entendem inglês, mas que acompanham esse blog.
Bem… quando eu cheguei aqui, meu primeiro impacto foi a língua. Obviamente, eu fiquei facinado!! Totalmente diferente do que eu ouvia no Brasil. Eu não sabia muito de inglês, entretanto eu já tinha estudado antes durante um ano, em 2008.
Este curso no Brasil foi muito útil porque eu pude aprender varias novas palavras, mas... (e sempre existe um “mas”) eram apenas palavras. Um monte de palavras perdidas, sem nenhuma conexão. Eu não sabia nada de gramática.
Particularmente, eu penso que a língua inglesa é fundamental para viver no mundo atual. Essa é a razão de eu estar aqui.
Eu vejo várias pessoas que não dão importância para isso... e aqui também. Existem muitas pessoas (incluindo brasileiros) que não se importam em aprender inglês. Eles estão aqui somente pelo dinheiro. Eles vivem com seus conterrâneos e, passado o tempo, acabam por não precisar de inglês para viver.
Essa é a opção para você se esta vindo para Dublin. A questão é:
O que você quer aqui? Dinheiro ou ingles? Ok… tu pode me responder: “Ambos!”
Sem problemas se você realmente pode fazer isso!! Perfeito!!
Mas a maior parte dos que chegam do Brasil não podem, de fato, fazer isso. Obviamente, quando você começar um trabalho aqui, automaticamente irá treinar o seu inglês, e isso é muito bom, mas, que tipo de emprego você pode conseguir aqui? Tão importante quando a grana e conversar em inglês, é falar corretamente a língua, sem erros gramaticais.
Para mim, tem sido uma forte e difícil experiência. As vezes é fácil falar e as vezes pode ser muito dificil. Minha opção foi aprender a língua e, se possível, viajar pela Europa. Eu quero conhecer tudo o que eu vi nos livros. Ver shows (U2 especialmente!) e tirar fotos nos lugares conhecidos. Eu espero até o final desse ano estar falando inglês bem. Eu não tenho muito dinheiro mas eu sei que minha experiência não tem preço!!
O grande valor que quero levar na minha volta para o Brasil é o conhecimento e a experiência vivida aqui.
