Hatzerim!

Well... this post will be very short!
I have been here in the Kibbutz Hatzerim for 1 week! As I said before, this kibbutz is beside Be'er Sheva, surrounded by a desert and sand. Really beautiful! 

Personally I've never seen this kind of place before, and the kibutz is like an oasis!!! Fascinating!!!!! Trees, birds, shadows, and I have lived in a nice single room.
Ok... In the kibbutz I was working in a culture of Jojoba. I was a real farmer. Hard work. Waking up at 5 o'clock, and this kind of things.

But.... After the hard work... despite the effort of my friend Geruza and her husband Leon, I was completely alone here, and I didn't practice any English. 
Sad. 
After few chats, the conclusion: change the kibbutz.
Tomorrow morning I am going to Jerusalem and I will be there for 2 days. I will relax, pray, get thrilled me and realize one of my biggest dream, see and go into the walls of Jerusalem. Diving and breathing the religious atmosphere. 
I will think about my life, my family and all my friends.

Bem ... este post será muito curto!
Estou aqui no Kibutz Hatzerim fazem 1 semana! Como eu disse antes, ele fica ao lado de Beer Sheva, rodeado por deserto e areia. Realmente lindo!
Pessoalmente eu nunca tinha visto esse tipo de lugar antes, e o kibutz é como um oásis!
Fascinante !!!!! As árvores, os pássaros, sombra, e eu vivia em um quarto de solteiro muito legal!!
Ok ... No kibutz eu estava trabalhando na cultura de jojoba. Eu era um fazendeiro realmente. Trabalho duro! Acordar às 5:00, e este tipo de coisa.
Mas .... após o trabalho duro - e apesar do esforço da minha amiga Geruza e seu marido Leon - eu estava completamente sozinho aqui, e não praticando o Inglês.
Triste.
Após algumas conversas, a conclusão: a mudança do kibutz.


Amanhã de manhã vou para Jerusalém, e eu ficarei lá por dois dias. Vou relaxar, rezar, me emocionar e realizar um dos meus maiores sonhos, ver e ir para as muralhas de Jerusalém. Mergulhar e respirar a religiosidade.
Vou pensar na minha vida, minha família e meus amigos.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!

Yes! I did!
It was a long long time ago... 2005.
I remember it like today.
I was working in a course called "Elite - Pré-Vestibular." when this opportunity arose.
I had to go to Curitiba to do the video. In total it was 15 lessons.
I was young (29 years old), slim, had a big brown hair and I had braces in my teeth.


I have just seen that those videos are on Youtube now! How did I discover that???
Three students sent me message at different times. 
The first one from Andressa Cabral by e-mail. The second one by Nathalia, through a comment on my blog (Link here), and the last one was today, by Hyago Sallet, telling me straight about my videos on Youtube by e-mail ass well!
Where there is smoke, there is a fire! I Looked for the videos on Youtube... and...

I know that I am not the best teacher of the world, and, probably, some of you thought that lesson of biology are boring (or I am boring), anyway, taking some time to thank somebody is reare nowadays.

Sim! Eu fiz!
Foi há muito, muito tempo atrás ... 2005.
Eu me lembro como se fosse hoje.
Eu estava trabalhando em um curso chamado "Elite -. Pré-Vestibular" quando a oportunidade apareceu.
Eu tive que ir para Curitiba para fazer os vídeos. No total, foram 15 aulas.
Eu era jovem (29 anos), magro, tinha um cabelo grande e castanho e usava aparelho nos dentes.


Acabei de ver que os vídeos estão no Youtube agora! Como eu descobri??
Três estudantes me enviaram messagens em momentos diferentes.
A primeira veio de Andressa Cabral por e-mail. O segunda por Nathalia, através de um comentário no meu blog (Link aqui), e a última mensagem foi hoje, por Hyago Sallet, dizendo-me diretamente sobre os meus vídeos no Youtube pelo rabo e-mail também! 
Onde há fumaça, há fogo! Eu olhei para os vídeos no Youtube ... e ...

Há ainda alunos que agradecem aos seus professores.
Eu sei que não sou o melhor professor do mundo, e, provavelmente, alguns de vocês pensaram que a aula da biologia é chata (ou eu sou chato), enfim, perdem algum tempo para agradecer, algo raro hoje em dia.


Obrigado a esses 3 alunos pelo carinho.

Israel: a new story begins!

Here I am! Israel!
Well... I am fine. My goodbye from Dublin was hard. Very hard.


But now, a new story begins!
Absolutely different place: culture, weather,  people, language, letter, money, ...everything.
Suddenly, my world changed. I am become an illiterate.

All of my life I studied, read, and I was independent. I loved the time I read the labels of medicine as I sat in the bathroom to do number 2... This time is over.
Here in Israel the first language is Hebrew, and despite almost everybody can speak in English, they talk one with other in local language. Everything is in Hebrew: journal, TV, signs, etc...
Ok... at least they talk in English... so... I will speak English!
When I arrived in the airport, my friend Geruza was waiting for me. I received mine 3 moths of visa, and I had to change my money.

Good news: € 50,00 are 227,00 Shekels.
Bad news: a Coke here is 8,00 Shekels, it means, life here is expensive.





My first day in Israel was in Tel Aviv, seaside town. Despite be winter, the temperature is hot. There is no rain here. The sky was completely clear and blue.

I could see how modern Israel is. High buildings mixed with old houses and temples. Traditionalism and vanguard together. Very beautiful place!

Now I am in a Kibbutz called Hatzerim, beside Beer Sheva. An oasis in the desert, literally, but about this, I will write in the next posts!

Aqui estou eu! Israel!
Bom... Eu estou bem. Minha despedida de Dublin foi difícil. Muito difícil.
Mas agora, uma nova história começa!
Lugar absolutamente diferente: cultura, clima, povo, língua, letra, dinheiro, ... tudo.


De repente, meu mundo mudou. Eu me tornei um analfabeto.
Toda minha vida eu estudei, li, e fui independente. Eu adorava o tempo que eu lia os rótulos dos remédios, quando eu me sentava no banheiro para fazer "número 2"... Esse tempo acabou.
Aqui em Israel, a primeira língua é o hebraico, e apesar de quase todos falarem inglês, eles falam um com o outro na língua local. Tudo está em hebraico: jornal, TV, cartazes, etc...Ok ... pelo menos eles falam em Inglês ... então ... Vou falar Inglês!


Quando cheguei no aeroporto, minha amiga Geruza estava esperando por mim. Recebi o meu visto de 3 mêses, e tive que trocar dinheiro.
Boa notícia: €50,00 são 227,00 Shekels.
Má notícia: uma Coca-Cola aqui são 8,00 Shekels, ou seja, a vida aqui é cara.
Meu primeiro dia em Israel foi em Tel Aviv, cidade litorânea. Apesar de ser inverno, a temperatura está quente. Não há chuva aqui. O céu estava completamente limpo e azul. Eu pude ver quanto moderna é Israel. Edifícios altos misturados com velhas casas e templos. Tradicionalismo e vanguarda em conjunto. Lugar muito lindo!
Agora estou em um Kibbutz chamado Hatzerim, ao lado de Beer Sheva. Um oásis no deserto, literalmente, mas sobre isso, vou escrever nos próximos posts!
